Stevenson College Hiring

January 05, 2016

By , College Academic Program Coordinator

Welcome back from break! It's a new quarter, and your chance to get a fresh start, and maybe try something new.
That something new can be an awesome on-campus job! There are a few options, including being a Programs Assistant, Residential Assistant, working for the Provost's Office or working in the Stevenson Garden. The official job descriptions can be found on the ER system on the Career Center website (for the Provost roles) and on the Stevenson College website.
The Stevenson Programs office will be hiring Programs Assistants this quarter! Here's a brief outline of what Programs Assistants do:
  • Plan college-wide events for Stevenson College (educational and social)
  • Plan College Nights
  • Publicize college events
  • Assist with welcome week as well as the June commencement ceremony
  • Maintain the Programs Office, Resource Room, and special projects with the CPC

We're looking for people who are creative, team players, and want to be actively involved in fostering community here in Stevenson.

Information sessions will be held on Tuesday, January 12th and Wednesday, January 13th from 7:00pm in the Silverman Conference Room.

Info session attendance is required to apply. For any questions or disability related concerns, please email chhchoi@ucsc.edu.
The Provost's Office is hiring a historian (i.e photographer, ER# 6673) and some events assistants (ER# 7864). Apply through the Career Center site. We are also hiring for four roles in the Stevenson Garden, funded by the Campus Sustainability Center. See ERs #8000, #8002, #8004 and #8005 for details on being the treasurer, events coordinator, production manager or community engagement coordinator, respectively.
Finally, Cowell and Stevenson Colleges are beginning their selection process for Residential Assistants. The website for RA Selection is now available. Info sessions are not required but are highly encouraged for interested students. There is a supplemental application for the process and references are required. You are strongly advised to carefully read the site and complete everything in plenty of time.
For all the positions, there will be many applicants, so you are encouraged to be professional, take time to edit your resumes and applications and ask questions if you have them. Good luck!
