Stevenson Student Council

Mission Statement
The purpose of Stevenson Student Council is to better the individual and community through campus solidarity, meaningful discussion, and self-governance.
Stevenson Student Council is the governing body for Stevenson students.
The primary responsibilities of the council include the allocation of the College Membership fund, making recommendations on policies, staffing and publicizing student elections, informing Stevenson students about issues and events occurring both at UCSC and across the University of California, and appointing students to university committees.
The council consists of representatives from each of the eight residential houses, apartments and off-campus students.
Meetings are held every Thursday night from 7:30 – 9:00 pm in the Stevenson Fireside Lounge. Follow us on instagram or check our website for updates regarding our meetings and our council happenings.

Funding Request
Stevenson Student Council provides limited funding for the implementation of events and programs that serve the Stevenson Community. The maximum amount that will be awarded to one project is $500.
To be eligible for funding from the Stevenson Student Council, you must be one of the following:
- A registered SOAR organization
- A registered Student Media organization
- An organization or club affiliated with OPERS
- A group or organization affiliated with a campus unit and/or academic department with a FOAPAL available for fund transfers
Please submit your funding request using the online form below. Once you have put in your request, you will be contacted by email with an invitation to present at a meeting.Requests are reviewed on a first come basis. Please submit your request at least a month prior to your event/activity if possible.
Our Constitution
Serving as the foundational framework for how the council operates and is governed, the constitution outlines our powers and responsibilities. While its purpose is to provide clarity and structure, we believe it should remain a living document: one that evolves alongside the needs of our community. In doing so, we aim to continuously uphold our guiding theme of “Self and Society.”
Stevenson Leadership & Activities Center
The Stevenson Leadership & Activities Center educates and develops skills for our students to survive and thrive. We are committed to preparing students to change the world. Every Stevenson frosh receives an imperative for change from their experience in the core course, and through engaging with the SLAC, they can gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to provide leadership at every level.
The Stevenson Leadership & Activities Center is an important pathway to enhancing your community life at UCSC. Students can empower themselves through joining the Stevenson Student Council, or by applying for a leadership position at the college. The SLAC provides a variety of ways to learn and experience new cultures, skills and places.
