Dining Information
Students find mealtime an opportunity to eat, meet new and old friends, study and relax. There are dining halls located at Cowell, Crown, Porter, Rachel Carson and Colleges Nine and Ten. While you’ll probably eat most of your meals at the Cowell Dining Hall, your meal card, which also serves as your I.D. card and bus pass, may be used at all of the campus dining halls. If your meal plan includes flexi dollars, you can use your I.D card to eat at coffee shops.
The Dining halls are set up "food court" style, offering a wide selection of entrees, a soup and salad bar, beverages, and desserts. In addition to the regular meal program, there are several features that contribute variety - and fun - to the dining hall atmosphere. We’ve got pizza, a taco bar, grill, sushi bar, mediterranean, pasta, deli and vegan/vegetarian fare, just to name a few.
Meals are offered seven days a week: breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Friday, and brunch and dinner on weekends and holidays. Late night dining is offered at Crown, College Eight and Colleges Nine & Ten. You will select one of a variety of meal plan options.
If you find yourself unable to attend any meal due to class or some other obligation, you can get a meal to go at the dining hall. They will supply you with a box, utensils and cup. You get 15 minutes to make yourself a meal and carry it out.
Participation in a university-sponsored meal plan is mandatory for residents. The only exception to this policy is on a temporary basis for a bona fide medical/dietary reason.
Stevenson Coffee House
Our beloved Coffee House is a popular gathering spot at Stevenson. You can find rotating art shows, fun music, lively conversation, bi-weekly "Open Mic" nights and a selection of homemade pastries, ice cream, espresso, coffees, teas, juices, soups, salads, and sandwiches that can be enjoyed indoors or outdoors. The sunny patio in the redwoods, friends, staff, and occasional live music add to the engaging atmosphere of the Coffee House. It is an ideal place for light studying, or meeting with friends, classmates, or professors.
